Tilden Park Merry Go Round Christmas Fantasy in the Woods 2011 The antique hand carved Tilden Park Merry Go Round in Berkeley, CA, will transform into magical and whimsical holiday spectacular this winter with its 13th Annual "Christmas Fantasy" program. The fantasy experience involves an extensive array of outdoor holiday light displays and decorations covering the merry go round and surrounding grounds, creating a festive glow in the dark rolling hills of Tilden Park at night. The Merry-Go-Round itself is surrounded by sparkling Christmas trees with themes ranging from more traditional "Santa Tree" to the more eccentric "Vampire" or "Mardis Gras" decor. One of the largest displays of Christmas ornaments for sale in the bay area, it is a unique, must see collection for any enthusiast. In honor of the Merry Go Round's 100th birthday next year, Katherine's Collection has designed a custom commemorative Tilden Park Merry Go Round collection. Delicious holiday sweets and seasonal warm beverages are served nightly. The holiday spirit continues with carolers, holiday character appearances, and visits from Santa and his live reindeer! Entrance to the event and visits with Santa are free. $2 for one ride, or a book 7 rides for $10.
